What an Independent Franchisee Association Can Accomplish
When you form an independent franchisee association as a chapter of the AAFD, you will bring together other franchisees from your franchise system to create a strong peer support network. You’ll also gain REAL negotiating leverage with your franchisor to create a fairer and more profitable future for your business.

Affiliated chapters of the AAFD benefit from (and contribute to) the AAFD’s growing effectiveness in influencing reforms within the franchising community. Chapter status also provides the opportunity to network and share experiences with other franchisee associations and leaders, and to develop solutions to common problems.

How the AAFD Supports its Franchisee Associations
The AAFD offers dynamic programs and services to support affiliated associations in achieving their specific mission and goals:

  1. Catalyst: Getting started and off the ground is always a huge challenge. The support of the AAFD can provide a visible foundation and help you grease the skids to launch your effective association.

  2. Organization: The AAFD Chapter Development Department helps associations define their mission and goals, build and/or revise bylaws, and build the chapter’s leadership team.

  3. Issue Development and Solution: The AAFD offers training, strategic planning, and consulting services designed to articulate issues and implement solutions.

  4. Management and Support: The AAFD has dedicated over 20 years to supporting our franchise associations in developing a common voice to promote fair treatment and positive relationships with franchisors. Our support and management comes in many forms, including general consulting, organizational expertise, administrative support, communication and outreach development, and more.
