Richard Stroiney to lead and expand the organization and its operations

(Palm Desert, CA,) June 21, 2022 – American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD), a national trade association advocating for franchisees and independent dealers, announced the appointment of Richard (Rich) Stroiney as Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer. His role is effective immediately. Rich has served as Acting Executive Director since the departure of Amy Mancuso in February 2022.

“We are pleased to formally welcome Rich to the leadership team of AAFD. He has been instrumental in filling in with leadership, strategy, and long-term planning during the time that the seat had been vacant,” said Robert Purvin, AAFD chairman and founder. “Rich has already demonstrated his significant ability to move AAFD to the next level as an influential organization among our membership, vendors, and as an advocate in policy matters.”

Rich is no stranger to the AAFD, and his promotion follows a natural trajectory of his ongoing support and involvement. Rich started in 2016 as a Franchisee Member of the BNI franchisees chapter of the AAFD and supporting his chapter as a board member, legal trustee and ultimately President of the Chapter.  He has served the AAFD as a member and current co-chair of the AAFD’s Franchisee Leadership Council, co-chair of the AAFD Franchisee Leadership Summit, and Acting Executive Director with Amy Mancuso’s departure. Rich will focus on the ongoing operations of the organization, taking responsibility to guide the organization’s employees and contractors. He will be working side-by-side with Robert Purvin and Keith Miller to expand the business, legislative support, and overall franchisee industry benefits.

“I am honored to be appointed in this new role and to be working alongside many of whom I have known for the past six years as member of AAFD,” said Rich Stroiney. “As a former franchise owner of BNI, I can empathize with the challenges of franchising. With my background knowledge and by being an active listener, I will support the AAFD and its members so that we can all enjoy the success and benefits through franchising.”

Prior to owning and operating the second largest BNI franchise in the US, Rich ran his business coaching and consulting practice following nearly 20 years in corporate business roles where his background experience includes pricing, marketing, customer support, program management and sales policy/compliance.

Rich has degrees in Aerospace Engineering (BS), Finance (MBA), Strategic Management (MS) and is currently working on his doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
