Steven is a 30-year veteran of the health insurance industry, 21 years of which he spent in senior sales and executive management positions at Cigna, Lincoln National Life, HIP Health Plan Cha5x7 internetof Florida and others in the managed health care sector. He held the position of National Director of Business Development at MDVIP, a concierge medical management company and was part of that organization from its infancy through its purchase by Procter & Gamble in 2008. Steven broadened MDVIP’s reach by repositioning the program as an employee benefit and successfully implementing it as an executive benefit program at Disney, Frito Lay and Marriott, among others. Prior to that Steven was a founding member of Lumenos, one of the pioneers in the field of consumer-driven health care. As a senior member of the sales team, Steven participated in a variety of strategic initiatives, including product development, tactical marketing, and program management. At Lumenos, Steven introduced CDHC to a number of Fortune 500 and 1000 organizations, turning its prevention-focused philosophy of consumer empowerment into tangible revenue and, in the process, contributing to its growth from 1,500 members in 2000 to 110,000 members in 2005. In that same year, Lumenos was purchased by Wellpoint, the nation’s largest Blue Cross licensee. Steven also served as Senior Vice President for Sales & Marketing at HIP Health Plan of Florida. Under his direction, HIP Health Plan membership increased from 95,000 in 1996 to 215,000 in 1998, generating $600 million in annualized revenue. Some of Steven’s industry-related activities have included holding elected positions on the boards of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the Broward Economic Development Council. He has published numerous articles on managed health care in periodicals such as Best Review and Health Insurance Underwriter. In 2008, Steven started Health Analytics, Inc., an independent health benefit consultancy with a strategic market focus on the franchise industry. Clients included the American Association of Franchisees & Dealers, Straw Hat Pizza Owners Cooperative and the Meineke Dealers Association. Steven holds a degree in business from the University of Miami and resides in Boca Raton, Florida.
