2017 AAFD Franchisee Leadership Summit Expected to Be the Largest Ever Gathering of Franchisee Association Leaders in History
INDIAN WELLS, DECEMBER, 2016 – The American Association of Franchisees and Dealers (AAFD) is calling on all franchisee association leaders to participate in what it projects to be the largest ever gathering of franchisee association owners. The AAFD’s “Franchisee Leadership Summit” will take place on Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 at the Renaissance Indian Wells Resort and Spa in Indian Wells, California as part of the organization’s three-day annual conference and 25th anniversary celebration.
The AAFD describes the franchisee leadership summit as an opportunity for franchisee association leaders to “identify and discuss the common challenges franchisees face and to work together to cultivate more fairness and collaboration within the franchising industry.” The summit will address topics that include:
- Protection of franchisee ownership equity, markets, and profit margins
- Ways to improve group purchasing benefits while curbing franchisor abuse of the franchise system supply chain
- Franchisee issues and opportunities surrounding the “joint employer” legal debate
- Working to achieve fair and balanced franchise agreements that respect franchisee interests
- Promoting best practices for franchisee associations
- And more
“The AAFD Franchisee Leadership Summit will be an unprecedented opportunity to unite the negotiating and political leverage of franchisees nationwide,” said Robert Purvin, Chairman of the AAFD. “We are going to have some of the most forward-thinking thought leaders and franchisee advocates working together in common cause to advocate for fair and balanced franchise relationships.”
The AAFD is endeavoring to identify and invite every known franchisee association and franchisee advisory council to the summit. The forum will include a variety of topic-led discussions with the intent to develop action plans for future engagement.
Franchisee association leaders, as well as individual franchise owners, are encouraged to attend the summit, as well as the entire three-day conference. The AAFD’s 25th Anniversary Celebration and Annual Meeting is focused on the future of franchisee rights and empowerment. The theme, “25 Years of Total Quality Franchising: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” will feature general sessions and breakouts geared to the interests of every franchise owner. The conference will also include the AAFD’s Supplier Showcase and Market Power Tradeshow and the AAFD’s signature Total Quality Franchising Awards Gala and Banquet.
