AAFD plans comprehensive program to advance strong associations while protecting member health.
New Dates: June 23-25, 2021 – Live in Mesa, Arizona or attend Virtually

Trying to address our dual goal of advancing our mission of advocating for franchisee interests and protecting the health and safety of our members, the AAFD has again postponed the dates of the 2020/2021 AAFD Franchisee Leadership Summit to June 23-25, 2021. This year’s theme is focused on Empowering Franchisee Associations, and we have an impressive agenda to help our affiliated chapters to achieve their goals and to advance exciting legislative and regulatory initiatives that are gaining ground at an unprecedented speed.

As of January 25, 2021, the Biden administration has reconfirmed that by the end of Spring (June 20, 2021) all Americans who desire to receive Covid vaccinations should be able to be inoculated, thus our decision to move the dates of our live conference to the beginning of Summer.

In order to assure the health, safety and confidence of our members, we have determined to limit in person attendance to attendees who have been vaccinated and who agree to honor any safety protocols that are recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) at the time of our conference. At the same time, we are also committed to ensuring that everyone who would like to attend can do so, whether in person or virtually. Accordingly, we are also pleased to offer an option for virtual attendance for all members who are unable or unwilling to receive vaccinations by the conference date, or who simply feel that travel is not safe, or otherwise would prefer to not travel by early summer.

AAFD Chairman, Robert Purvin, explained, “We are trying hard to balance the important benefits of advancing our mission coming together for our mutual benefit with the equally important concern for our members health and safety. Offering an opportunity to come together safely, while providing a viable virtual option for those who have not been vaccinated, or otherwise prefer to attend remotely, gives us the best of both worlds, and allows us to convene safely and importantly.”

The AAFD is also offering a special group rate for chapters who opt to underwrite their members’ virtual attendance. All AAFD Chapters that take advantage of this special group rate will be able to offer FREE virtual attendance for all their members for a low Virtual Group Rate.

As always, all AAFD Chapters are required to send at least two delegates to the Franchisee Leadership Summit, and it is vitally important that all chapters support the important work and mission of the AAFD community of franchise owners. Again, all delegates will have the option of attending in person (provided they have received Covid vaccinations) or virtually.

Details of for conference registration, both live and virtual options, will follow soon.
