Stephen Michael Rymal has been a Franchisee of Griswold Home Care (GHC) since 1997. He is a Past President and Past Secretary of the Griswold Home Care Franchisee Association (GHCFA) and was one of the founding members of its Board of Directors. He is also a Trustee of the GHCFA Legal Fund Trust. In 2016 was elected by his peers to the Negotiating Committee to renegotiate the GHC franchise agreement that won the AAFD Fair Franchising Seal of Approval in 2017 receiving a score of 97% conformity with the AAFD’s Fair Franchising Standards.
His first office was located in Moorestown, Burlington County, NJ and he subsequently added territories in Gloucester/Salem County and Hunterdon County, NJ. His offices have received numerous awards from GHC including the Gold, Silver and Bronze Heart Awards over the years culminating in the Platinum Heart Award in 2011. He also received the “Got Heart” Certificate of Excellence Award from GHC for marketing and growth excellence in 2014. He has been recognized by the Alzheimer’s Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society for his service and contribution to the elderly and handicapped in New Jersey.
Earlier this year his offices in New Jersey were the first GHC offices in the country to be accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Partnership (CHAP), a national accrediting organization.
In his prior life before GHC he was a litigation attorney with Cozen & O’Connor in Philadelphia in both the insurance defense and subrogation sections rising to Junior Partner in 1996. He continues to practice law at Rymal & O’Malley, a small boutique law firm, specializing in regulatory and business law, and is an Arbitrator with the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey.
He graduated from Villanova University in 1978 with a degree in Civil Engineering and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi & Tau Beta Pi Honor Societies. He became licensed as Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania in 1983. He later graduated from Temple Law School in 1989 with a degree in Juris Prudence. In 2010 he received a Lean Six Sigma Certification in business management from Villanova University.
