Fluent in the Spanish language, Robert was born in Cuba and came to New York with his parents in 1961 at the age of 2, fleeing Communism and leaving all material possessions behind. The sacrifices of his parents combined with Robert’s personal drive, determination, and hard work led him to many great achievements, including graduating from Harvard University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Robert is an avid yachtsman who loves being out in the open water. He is also an amateur Chef and enjoys hosting parties and fundraisers for many great charitable causes. Together with his family and three grown children, Robert loves to travel and lives his life to the fullest by the mottos he cherishes most: “Work hard, Play hard”, “Live, Learn, Love, and Laugh”, and “Always do the Right Thing!”

Erica counsels and assists commercial clients in developing new franchise programs, protecting their intellectual property, complying with franchise laws and regulations, and resolving franchise relationship disputes. She also assists individuals evaluate franchise opportunities and assists them with business formation and ownership structuring. Erica also has a thriving real estate practice and frequently represents clients in commercial lease and purchase transactions.
Erica received her J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law where she graduated with honors. Prior to law school, she received her M.A. in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management from Southern Methodist University and her B.A. in International Studies from the University of North Texas.
Before law school, Erica worked with nonprofit organizations. She directed the America Reads program at the University of North Texas, interned with Mosaic Family Services, and managed the volunteer program and food pantry for Metrocrest Services. Through these roles, she gained specialized knowledge of the management and needs of nonprofit organizations.
During law school, Erica interned with Legal Aid of Northwest Texas and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Through her internships, she worked on civil litigation, real estate, and probate and estate issues. While in law school, she also served on the Texas A&M Journal of Property Law and participated in the Community Legal Access Clinic.
Post law school, Erica served as staff counsel for a family office where she gained legal experience in corporate law, real estate transactions, estate planning, and nonprofit organizations.
Robert Gifford focuses his practice on complex business litigation and handles some of the most complicated cases for large financial institutions. Robert originally trained in the trial and appellate bureaus of the New York County (Manhattan) District Attorney’s Office under Robert Morgenthau. Since then, he has represented a wide variety of business litigants—often as plaintiffs themselves—and obtained numerous significant favorable verdicts and settlements. Robert’s clients have included everything from Fortune 50 companies to small partnerships.

Richard L. Rosen, the founder of The Richard L. Rosen Law Firm, PLLC, has been actively engaged in the practice of franchise law in New York City for over 40 years, during which time he has represented countless franchisors and franchisees, both as counsel and as a business adviser. Mr. Rosen has been engaged in virtually all aspects of franchising during his career.
