About the Author: Douglas Luther

I spent the first part of my career working at both big law and litigation boutique firms. During that time, I, along with my teams, represented everyone from billionaires to celebrities to Fortune 500 companies. On behalf of plaintiffs, I have obtained verdicts, pre-trial judgments, and settlements amounting to more than $24 million. I also represented many franchisors and franchisees as I learned the ins and outs of franchise law and became Chair of the California Lawyers Association’s Franchise Law Committee and a certified specialist. I would go on to become the general counsel of a growing franchise brand, Amada Senior Care for four years. My prior experience has given me a comprehensive background in franchise law as well as the business relationship issues in franchising. I use this expertise to litigate, arbitrate and mediate disputes on behalf of franchisees, helps clients buy and sell franchises and negotiate master franchise and development agreements nationwide and around the world.
