Winkley Will Support the AAFD’s Largest and Most Active Chapter

SAN DIEGO, FEB 2015 – The American Association of Franchisees & Dealers (AAFD) announced that its team will be expanding as it brings on Jerry Winkley as the executive director of the ServiceMaster Franchisee Owners’ Association (SMFOA), the AAFD’s largest and most active chapters. Jerry helped found the SMFOA and previously served as the chapter’s inaugural president.

“Nobody is better suited to support the SMFOA than Jerry,” said Robert Purvin, founder and president of the AAFD. “Not only was Jerry a Service Master franchisee for over 25 years, but he proved his exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills as the founder and president of SMFOA. He understands the needs of the SMFOA like no one else, and we are thrilled to have him as part of our team.”

“When ServiceMaster franchisees like myself needed to address issues with our franchisor with a unified voice, the AAFD was there to help us create unity and structure,” Winkley remembers. “Now that I’ve decided to retire as a franchisee, I am excited to continue supporting SMFOA members from the other side, as a representative of the AAFD. I look forward to doing everything in my power to help SMFOA achieve a relationship of Total Quality Franchising with ServiceMaster.”

Winkley recently sold his ServiceMaster® Clean franchise after over 25 years of ownership. During that time, Winkley went from knocking on doors in the snow to prospect for customers to owning multiple locations throughout Central- and South-Central Kansas and overseeing over 100 employees. In 2013 Winkley reached out to the AAFD for assistance in building a franchisee chapter. Eventually, he helped found the SMFOA chapter of the AAFD. Winkley’s decades of experience as a ServiceMaster franchisee, his strong relationship with his fellow franchisees, and his enthusiastic advocacy for SMFOA make him a natural fit to help guide and support the chapter in his new role as executive director of the SMFOA.

Over the last six months, the AAFD has continued to experience rapid growth, inducting over a dozen new chapters into its fold. Winkley is a welcomed addition and will help the AAFD continue to provide responsive account services and support to each of its growing chapters. With the added capacity of Winkley, the AAFD is set to make 2015 a year of smart growth as it continues to receive a high level of interest from franchisees curious about achieving Total Quality Franchising with their franchisor.
